The entire world swayed along as Madhuri danced on ‘Didi Tera Dewar’! The year was 1994 and the film, Hum Aapke Hai Koun! While people might not remember the year, they will surely remember the famous blue saree Madhuri Dixit adorned in the song. This is the closest they can come to becoming like their on-screen idols and it makes them feel in the actresses shoes. We are sure, these sarees might even make them look prettier than the on-screen counterparts.

While simple mono-colored chiffon, silk and cotton sarees were a trend during the earlier 90s, the late 90s carried a different kind of attire that changed the entire definition of Indian sarees. With films like Hum Saath Saath Hai, vibrant and colorful sarees found acceptability among woman. Even abroad, women wanted those ‘Sarees from India’ that were bright and exuded vibrancy! Such sarees were highly in demand.

As we moved on the late 2000s, a more sophisticated and glamorous way of dressing up was introduced. Manish Malhotra Sarees in particular became a common household name. Everyone wanted to drape themselves in the choicest collection of Bollywood’s famous designer Manish Malhotra.
